YKYH.NET is an independent directory of macOS applications and command-line tools. This page explains how we create, review, and update the information you see on the site.

Where the data comes from

• App metadata — the public Homebrew formulae API. Version, licence, architecture, and dependencies come directly from upstream.
• Install counts — opt-in Homebrew analytics, aggregated over 30 days and 365 days. These measure installation activity, not total users.
• Categories — derived from Homebrew metadata, with curated overrides where the upstream data is incomplete.
• Open-source status — marked only when Homebrew metadata links a source repository. Otherwise the entry shows “Not declared”.

How entries are written

Each app page is generated from upstream metadata and reviewed for clarity. Descriptions are factual and do not contain subjective ratings or paid placement. Rankings are based solely on 30-day install counts.

Update schedule

Data is refreshed daily. The “last updated” date shown on each page reflects the most recent metadata refresh.

Corrections

If you find an error in an app entry, please email Gaocheng365@live.com with the page URL and the correction. We review reports and update entries where the upstream data supports it.

What we do not do

• We do not host or mirror installers. Downloads always come from the vendor or Homebrew.
• We do not sell rankings or accept payment for placement.
• We do not publish subjective scores or “best of” lists that imply endorsement.
• We are not affiliated with Apple or Homebrew.

Independence

YKYH.NET is independently operated. The site has no advertising relationships with the apps it lists.
